Current Gifts/Endowments
Current Gifts: A donor’s current giving is calculated by totaling all gifts made through the Texas A&M Foundation, Association of Former Students and 12th Man Foundation. Only gifts that have been turned over irrevocably are included in calculations of current giving. These “irrevocable” gifts include the transfer of cash, securities, bonds, property or real estate, and the funding of gift annuities and charitable trusts. Pledges are not counted.
Recognition
- Events: Each year, the Texas A&M Foundation invites Legacy Society members to an on-campus celebration that gives them opportunities to mingle with other donors, students and faculty and learn first-hand about key university initiatives.
- Hagler Center: The names of Legacy Society members are listed prominently in Legacy Hall, the grand hall of the Jon L. Hagler Center. Donors who have given $100,000 or more in current gifts have their names sandblasted into the limestone walls, and heritage members are listed on glass panels near the entrance.
- Honor Rolls: The foundation publishes an honor roll of all Legacy Society members in its annual report and annually recognizes new members in the Texas Aggie, the university’s alumni magazine.
- Membership in the Legacy Society is open to individuals, corporations, foundations and organizations.
- The Texas A&M Foundation extends membership to qualifying donors each year after calculating their cumulative giving and/or receiving documentation of their estate gifts.
- Membership is based on giving through any or all of these entities: the Texas A&M Foundation, Texas A&M University, Association of Former Students and/or 12th Man Foundation.
- Legacy Society members are recognized at several levels (see below). Donors who increase their giving move to higher levels.
- Members who prefer anonymity may have their names omitted from honor rolls and/or invitation lists.

The Texas A&M Foundation gives special recognition to supporters of Texas A&M’s university-wide scholarship programs: the President’s Endowed Scholarship (PES), Endowed Opportunity Award (EOA), Corps Scholarships (Corps) and Foundation Excellence Award (FEA). Recognition includes the following:
- Donor-Scholar Information Exchange: Once the university selects a student for your scholarship, the related university office or foundation helps you get acquainted. For PES, EOA and FEA, we coordinate an exchange of biographical information between you and your scholar. This often is the beginning of a lifetime friendship between the donor and scholar.
- Annual Donor-Scholar Event: The university and/or Texas A&M Foundation sponsor an annual event to unite donors and scholars in each program. Held on campus, these events bring you face-to-face with the Aggie who holds your scholarship.
- Donor Plaques: The foundation gives engraved, brass-and-wood plaques to donors of all three programs. In addition, we add the names of PES, Corps and EOA donors to recognition plaques in Texas A&M’s Memorial Student Center.
- “Texas Aggie” Recognition: With the donors’ permission, the Texas A&M Foundation recognizes new PES and FEA donors in the university’s alumni magazine, the Texas Aggie.
