SPIRIT AND MIND

A Message from Dr. Bresciani

“There’s a spirit that can n’er be told—it’s the spirit of Aggieland.” No more meaningful words can ever be used to describe our University, and they are the basis for what has led to Texas A&M becoming recognized as one of the best in the nation. But there’s more here than just a spirit; there is a feeling of welcome and belonging, of involvement and engagement, and of community and selfless contribution to others that manifest themselves through our spirit.
At no other University in the nation do students, both those current and former, feel the bond and connectedness that we share. At no other University in the nation is learning inside of the classroom more balanced and interconnected with experiences outside of the classroom. And at no other University in the nation do students have as many and as rich of opportunities for involvement, leadership development, and contribution back to those around them through over 800 recognized clubs and organizations, class councils, and involvement in virtually every University committee, as do the students of Texas A&M University.

It goes without saying that much of the above is possible only through the generous support offered by former students and other friends of Texas A&M University. Their support is deeply appreciated, whether it comes from a former student struggling to get their feet on the ground in their first job after graduation, or from a former President of the United States who simply by being introduced to the Aggie experience, has become one of our most visible supporters. Aggies, and those who are part of our broader Aggie family, look for ways to give back to the institution they so care about, and they do so with unrivaled consistency and passion.

Every Aggie, and every level of contribution, is a critical piece in our efforts to provide the unique and exceptional experience that has come to define our University. I invite you to learn more about how you can continue to contribute to the “spirit that can ne’er be told.”

Gig’em!,

Dr. Dean L. Bresciani
