Texas A&M University announced today that it has received a $145,500 donation from Marathon Oil Corp. (NYSE: MRO). The donation, presented to the Texas A&M Foundation at its campus headquarters, will fund scholarships and assist 11 academic departments in the business, engineering and geoscience fields.

William D. Gillespie ’80, Marathon’s director of Upstream business development — the Americas, said the company is “very pleased to make this contribution to Texas A&M in support of scholarships and key programs that support and encourage students in disciplines that are critical to our future.”
