Give a Student a Chance to Excel
For more than fifty years, donors have supported highly motivated incoming freshmen to achieve their dreams through Endowed Opportunity Award scholarships.
An EOA scholarship can change a life. It can mean the difference between a bright, well-rounded young person attending and not attending A&M. It can free a student from working too many hours and from the burden of student loans. Many families are being challenged in these economically uncertain times, and an EOA scholarship can lighten their load.
By funding a $25,000 Endowed Opportunity Award, you’ll provide a stipend of $1,250 per year for four years to a deserving student. Your scholarship will bear your name or the name of a person you’d like to honor, and because you’re giving an endowed gift, which funds scholarships with only the earnings on the principal, you’ll be affecting the lives of Aggies for years to come.
A century from now, your scholarship will still be hard at work supporting future generations of Aggies so that they can make a difference for their world. Donor-recipient relationships are at the core of EOA scholarships. The Foundation will thoughtfully match you with the student who receives your scholarship. You’ll have the opportunity to develop and ongoing relationship, to share ideas and dreams. These relationships can continue long after graduation.
For many students, this kind of mentoring is invaluable. We encourage donors and recipients to correspond, and some donors and recipients get together regularly. You’ll have at least one opportunity to connect in person at an annual event held on campus in the fall. These occasions are a great way to meet other recipients and other donors, as well.
