Texas A&M is dedicated to achieving ethnic and cultural diversity in its student body population. Providing educational opportunity to all racial and ethnic groups is critical to the university as well as the increasingly diverse state of Texas. Top priorities of the university’s Vision 2020 plan include recruiting and retaining outstanding minority students and creating a respectful and nurturing campus community at Texas A&M.
Naming Opportunities/Gift Amounts
| Foundation Excellence Award (FEA) Was created in 1998 by the Texas A&M Foundation to increase diversity in the university’s undergraduate student body. The FEA is open to entering freshmen, currently-enrolled students and transfer students from under-represented groups. Students’ academic qualifications, extracurricular activities and financial need are considered in selection. Recipients receive $2,000 per year for up to four years. |

Funding
Foundation Excellence Awards can be established by an individual or group with a one-time gift or with a series of installments over a period of up to five years. This tax-deductible gift to the Texas A&M Foundation may be made in the method of giving most convenient for the donor. The gift also is eligible for corporate matching gift programs.
Recognition
Scholarship donors are recognized at campus events during which they can meet their scholarship recipients. These celebrations, which encourage a spirit of camaraderie between donors and recipients, often result in lifelong friendships.
