There has been no better time to be a part of the College of Liberal Arts at Texas A&M University.
 
Vision 2020 has set an exciting course for Texas A&M to become one of America's preeminent public universities. Our success in the last capital campaign has begun to garner the resources necessary for distinction.  These resources have made and will continue to make possible chairs and professorships, student fellowships and scholarships, and endowed centers and institutes that will allow the college to encourage and recognize distinguished faculty and exceptional students.
 
The college's success in building a thriving philanthropic base is due to extraordinary support by friends of the college and outstanding accomplishment by the gifted faculty, staff, and students in Liberal Arts. We can never say thank you enough for your commitment and dedication.
 
Stretching to achieve the goals of Vision 2020, the College of Liberal Arts continues to serve as one of the cornerstones of Texas A&M. All students at the university take courses in the social sciences, humanities, and arts that are at the core of a college education.  As a cornerstone of their education, the quality of those courses fundamentally affects the quality of the degree students receive as they walk across the stage upon graduation.

And that quality will continue to improve with the addition of a new Liberal Arts and Humanities building, slated to break ground in 2010. This facility, the first dedicated solely to the liberal arts at Texas A&M University, will house the Departments of English and Peformance Studies.  We believe its presence will enhance humanities engagment among students and advance humanities scholarship with our faculty and students. 
 
We are proud to play this vital role in the academic experience of students at Texas A&M University. With the support of our good friends and our dedicated faculty and staff, we continue to provide a stellar liberal arts education that touches the lives of every student at Texas A&M University.
