Bequests

Your Goal
You want to make a significant contribution that will establish a legacy for your family, support the future of Texas A&M and reduce your estate-tax liability. Flexibility with your finances and assets is a requirement for you in the changing economic climate, especially if you have concerns for the future. You would like to continue to enjoy ownership of your property during your lifetime.

Benefits

  • Reduce your estate-tax liability by removing the property from the estate.
  • Maintain lifelong control of your asset: You continue ownership and enjoy use during your lifetime.
  • Bequests can be easily created or changed at any time, providing you flexibility.

Allan A. Marburger ’60 established a bequest of 800-plus acres of land near Paige, Texas, that will one day fund the Allan A. Marburger ’60 Endowed Scholarship in Agriculture. Marburger plans to leave the property to the Texas A&M Foundation on behalf of Texas A&M University in his will.

Allan A. Marburger

“I’m trying to use this scholarship to plant a seed for students who will bloom on down the road and who will give back to something to our society and will become better citizens of our state and our nation.”

-Allan A. Marburger '60
