SPIRIT AND MIND

Azimuth

Azimuths are angles, measured in degrees from true north, that help aviators, sailors and hikers set their direction.

Azimuth

We call our new giving program Azimuth because for centuries people have used this method of navigation to reach new destinations. Derived from the Arabic as-sum, which means “the ways,” azimuth refers to the many ways or directions that one can take. The Azimuth program gives new donors another way to chart the course of Texas A&M, another way to make a difference.

With Azimuth, you don’t need to wait to give back to Texas A&M. You can enjoy that rewarding experience now and have a significant impact on the college of your choice. Contributing to A&M is also a meaningful way to stay in touch with your school. By pledging to give $5,000 a year to the Foundation for five years, you become a member of Azimuth.

You direct the use of your Azimuth gift: You can choose to support student affairs, libraries or the college of your choice, and the gifts are designated as operational. An operational, or non-endowed, gift will be used by the college when the funds are received. For all Azimuth funds, the college’s dean or vice president of student affairs will determine the highest priorities, such as scholarships or programs or equipment, and use the funds as needed. Whatever you decide, your gift will make a difference.

The Foundation developed Azimuth to help Aggies make their first major gift for academic excellence. Azimuth enables you to contribute generously, but at a pace you can afford. Join Azimuth - give back to the university that gave so much to you, and enjoy the personal benefits of giving for years to come.
