Texas A&M-Galveston

Texas A&M University at Galveston (TAMUG) is one of only six maritime institutions in the U.S. and is one of the premier oceanfront universities in the world.

The University has about 1600 students, from every state and many foreign countries. About one-quarter of the students hail from outside Texas, the highest share of any public university in the State. They enjoy a student-faculty ratio of 14 to 1 in a small college environment, while earning the Aggie ring and Texas A&M University diploma.

About sixty-eight (68) percent of students are enrolled in science and engineering programs, the highest ratio of any higher education institution in Texas. TAMUG degree programs total ten, more than any other maritime institution worldwide.

Key growth at Texas A&M University will occur at its Galveston campus, where the student body will nearly double, to about 3000. This expansion will be gradual, concomitant with new and expanded facilities and greatly increased philanthropy and public funding.
