We Are the “A” in Texas A&M!

Since its inception in 1876, the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas, better known today as Texas A&M University, has served to prepare leaders in the agricultural and life science fields of endeavor, advance discovery though related research and extend this knowledge to the citizenry.

As the largest College of Agriculture & Life Sciences in the country, graduating over 1200 students annually, our former students are impacting ever sector of the agriculture and life science industries. 

Students select major course of study in 13 academic departments and are known for their leadership, integrity and work ethic, all cornerstones of the Aggie Spirit.

We Are Life!

Our faculty is world renowned for their expertise in issues ranging from molecular structural biology to the economics of the food marketing chain, from ecological science, conservation and management to the development of educators, communicators and translators of issues facing all the citizens of Earth. 

Abundant, Clean Water; Safe Food Supply; Energy From Crops & Other Biological Fuels—Stories that are taken from daily headlines are taught, researched and solved daily in the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences.

The core principles of our college are to prepare students, seek discovery and extend solutions that address the complexities of stewarding the basic functions of all life.
